Asking for prayers for my family. For my mom’s loneliness and changes with age. For my sister, feelings of insecurity in job and continued recovery from addiction. For my sister, new business and relief from anxiety and anger. For my sister, in her busy life, new school position and health. I pray she know she is loved, supported and can ask for help. For healing from his trauma and addition and hope he uses his gifts. For younger nephews for their protection and to know they are loved. For my nieces that they know they are loved and supported. For my upcoming changes at work and upcoming health tests. Help guide and ground me. Amen

Please pray for my grandson. We prayed he would get accepted in a new school and he did. Praise God. Now, I need prayer and faith that he will provide what he needs to get through this....I know he wouldn't have given more than he can handle. We prayed according to God's will. I worry a lot so just pray for me that I can be at peace, that God is with him at that school and he will do his very best for him and through him this year. God Bless you!

Please pray for wisdom and safety for firefighters and those evacuating. For the wind to be still, air temperatures to cool, smoke to clear to fight it from the air and a miracle of rain, no more loss of life...and for the fires to be put out completely.
Thank you also for praying for discernment for me to know when to return (I was out of town when it started) and am trained with crisis response to help, but cannot find a place to return to that is not under evacuation. I want to be sure I am more of a help than a burden. Thanking God for our safety and His close presence always with us and that what the enemy means for evil God can work for good!

Please join me in praying for my friend Evonne, a Redding resident who was flown to San Francisco's 'California Pacific Medical Center' Wednesday evening with failing kidneys. She is not a Christian, and her boyfriend was a believer in the past but has walked away from faith. Maybe God is trying to get them to focus on Him? The doctors don't know what is causing her illness.

What is Prayer?
- Prayer is an incredible privilege. God, the King of everything, invites us to communicate with Him. Prayer is simply talking with God. Whether it is a praise, a need, or a struggle, we have the opportunity to go to God in prayer. (Matthew 5, 6 / Romans 12 / Ephesians 6 / Hebrews 4)
Why do We Pray
- Prayer is the main avenue to create, cultivate, and sustain a deep connection with God. From the Bible, we get the picture that prayer is a major part of Heaven’s Kingdom. Jesus’ example is all we need to understand the reason for prayer. Over and over again in the New Testament especially leading up to the Cross, we see the words in Scripture of Him going away to pray. He models a commitment to pray often which communicates the importance of regular prayer. (Matthew 14, 26 / Mark 1 / Luke 5, 6 / Colossians 4 / 1 Thessalonians 5)
- Scripture also encourages us to ask others to join us in prayer. We are honored that you would trust us to partner with you in prayer. It is our privilege to pray for you and with you for any need or opportunity in your life.
(Ecclesiastes 4 / Ephesians 6 / James 5)
